![]() Nobody is better than you , nobody is worse than you , you just are you, all things are equal. After the game is played, the king and the pawn are laid to rest in the same box. it is the same for human beings, the game only makes us think we are special or less, but in reality we are all the same, quit comparing yourself to other people, when we make distinctions in our mind of us and them, this breeds angst and tension and we become prisoners of our own mind. ![]() Not to many species on Earth can engage in the process of writing our thoughts, feelings, emotions and experiences on paper or some other medium, we should strive everyday to engage in that process of expressing what is inside us to the outside, it is healthy and helps us to grow emotionally and psychologically, perhaps if more people kept a journal of some type, I would not have work to do. ![]() Most people who come to me for therapy and counseling come in with a myriad of issues and problems, and most of these issues are completely solvable or at least we can make them livable or tolerable. However to do this we must reclaim our past, we must go there and embrace it, we must own it, sometimes we must relive it, because the past is who we are, it has brought us to the present and to some degree. will determine our future. You see, the problem is most people try to keep the past in the past, they try to bury it, or lock it up in a box, ...........you can do that, you can choose to bury it, that is an option, but I offer you one guarantee, it will seed and grow and will begin to affect you over time. We must look at the past as a set of lessons, lessons which we should learn from, the past is the hammering, the firing and the cooling in the forge, it is what makes us strong. So the past must be embraced, we must look at who we used to be, we must own the negative things we have done or experienced, because when we go back there, there is power and wisdom in those lessons, and that is the spark for the fire. |
