Pearls of Wisdom
![]() How far we have come from the days of simple nomadic hunter-gathers on the plains of some distant continent, a continent most of us have no connection with, some lost link that we are forever seeking to re-discover. How different we must have been in these days long ago when we traveled with the seasons and the cycles of nature. We paid attention to the ground under our feet, the seasons, the signs from nature and it was our teacher. Nature provided for us, it gave us what we needed, there was a direct sense of providing; what we needed came from earth itself, picked by our hands, by our own hands, no one else. We were involved in an intimate feedback loop with Nature itself and this connection was just as deep as is a connection between and child and its parents. Humans now resemble lost puppies running around a large open space, we are lost and aimless, looking for our masters, we are puzzled, wandering, wondering where they’ve gone. In the process of “progressing and developing” it seems we have lost something, something vital and numinous that was tied into our being or our psyches in the early stages of our existence. I wonder what it must have been like to witness the great Zodiacal Light of Milky Way galaxy every night, weather-permitting of course, how that must have looked, that power coming from the sky at night, a guide, a teacher, now most children see only a few stars in the skies at night, the beauty has been destroyed. This destruction of our connection with life around us is evolving at a frightening pace; the disconnection is becoming ever more powerful even as you read this sentence. Nuggets of Dirt
