Trauma
Trauma is a word of Greek origin derived from an earlier lost language and even earlier word of "trau", an extended form of the root "tere", "to rub, to turn or to tear", in realizing the history of word we can see how trauma operates within the psyche of the individual, we can define trauma as a deeply, disturbing experience that leaves a lasting impression similar to a wound, a hurt or a defeat, it is a constant "tearing", and how can something heal if it is constantly tearing?
The trauma itself is always very deep within the psyche, because a trauma is a horrible experience laden with frightening emotions we succeed in pushing this trauma down, very deep, down into our psychic reservoirs where it is successfully anchored within us. Because of this depth, it takes much work, strength, insight and will power to journey into those depths to work with that particular trauma.
A trauma must be analyzed, worked with, seen in a different light. In the same way that we can never look at a stop sign at the end of a street without reading it, we can never forget our trauma, we can only apply a meaningful twist of our narrative on our fated life.
